This piece came to me having been upcycled twice before, but not professionally. It needed an incredible amount of structural work, from replacing drawer runners and stops, to sanding down the doors and adding magnets so they would stay closed.
I sanded down the top of the cabinet to remove all the filler that was added over the years (and previously painted) to reveal beautiful wood grain, ready to be re-stained and sealed. Previous wall paper was removed from the doors and the wood sanded down, ready to be painted. Gold borders and ornamental corner details made a dramatic art deco statement.
